Frequently asked questions

Know what happens before pickup day

These answers cover the common decisions. Call if your item is unusually heavy, damaged, infested, hazardous, or difficult to reach.

How is residential junk removal priced?

The on-site estimate considers how much space the load takes, the item type, access, labor, and disposal needs. The crew provides a written estimate before loading. Ask for a revised estimate if the item list changes.

Can I get a firm price from a photo?

Photos help show the scope, but they may not reveal weight, depth, access, or every item. The written on-site estimate is the point to review the complete price before work begins.

What items should not be mixed into the pile?

Keep fuels, paint, solvents, pesticides, cleaners, medical waste, batteries, unidentified liquids, and other hazardous material separate. Check official City of Asheville or Buncombe County disposal guidance for the right facility or event.

Do items need to be outside?

No. Inside pickup may be possible. Describe stairs, narrow passages, fragile floors, steep paths, elevators, gates, and long carries in advance.

What should I do before the crew arrives?

Remove personal papers, valuables, medication, donations you plan to handle yourself, and restricted materials. Clear a safe route and make sure the crew knows exactly what stays.

Are usable items donated?

Donation is considered before recycling and disposal, but acceptance depends on condition and the receiving organization’s current rules. Do not promise an item to a charity until acceptance is confirmed.

What areas are covered?

The source business lists Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania, and Haywood counties. Call with the exact pickup address to confirm coverage and timing.

How long is the arrival window?

The published process uses a two-hour appointment window and an advance call when the crew is on the way. Confirm the current schedule when booking.

Can appliances be removed?

Common household appliances are listed among the services. Empty and clean the appliance, and ask what disconnection is required. Gas, plumbing, electrical, and refrigerant work may need a qualified professional.

Is curbside pickup the same as full-service removal?

No. Municipal curbside programs have their own eligibility, scheduling, preparation, and item rules. Full-service removal can cover carrying items from inside and larger or more complicated cleanouts. Compare both before deciding.
